Parish Profile: our present

community engagement

We strive to be God’s hands in the world, working alongside others in our community to serve our neighbors and be good stewards of God’s creation.

We take our name Holy Comforter very seriously, and we strive to live into our name with parishioner-driven, lay-led ministries that all show our passion for being God’s hands in the world. We have active volunteers serve our community partner organizations, such as A Precious Child, Growing Home, St. Francis Center, and Broomfield FISH. These organizations provide food, clothing, shelter, and support for the most vulnerable in our community: children, those experiencing food scarcity and homelessness, and those seeking to get back on their feet and into permanent housing.

Our church campus is located at a geographical crossroads, and serves many homeless and travelers by providing services, transportation, lodging, and food. Our Women’s Gathering knits hats, scarves, and mittens for troops, children in our area, and other groups that need items for warmth and comfort. We also offer our campus as a community center to local groups, providing a safe space to meet and build community.

Our community-focused ministries include the Farmers’ Market, Growing Home, Women’s Gathering, the Warming Center Network, and the Broomfield Children’s Chorus. Our members also go on mission trips, serve with our partner organizations, and coordinate summer camps for children in our community.
